Determined Kenyan entrepreneur builds tea factory from scratch, bringing prosperity and jobs to community

In the heart of Kenya’s lush Nandi County, an entrepreneur named D.K Rono was determined to build a tea factory that would bring wealth and prosperity to his community.

Growing up

Rono had grown up in poverty, but he had always dreamed of creating something that would make a difference in the world.

His vision was to build a tea factory that would be the pride of Nandi County, providing employment to hundreds of people and producing the finest tea in all of Kenya.

He spent months traveling around the country, meeting with experts, and learning everything he could about the tea industry.

Finally, he had all the knowledge and resources he needed to begin building his factory. He chose a beautiful, green field of Chepkumia in the heart of Nandi County as the site for his new venture.

Rolling hills

The field was surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests, and Rono knew that the soil there would be perfect for growing tea.

With the help of his friends and family, Rono began to build the factory. They worked tirelessly day and night, laying the foundations, erecting the walls, and installing the equipment.

Finally, the day arrived in October 2019 when Chepkumia Tea Factory was ready to start production. He watched with bated breath as the first batch of tea was processed. The aroma that filled the air was intoxicating, and he knew that he had made the right decision.

As the factory grew, so did the community around it. Jobs were created, and the people of Nandi County started to benefit from Rono’s vision. The factory became the pride of the county, and people from far and wide came to see it. As Rono looked out over his thriving factory, he felt a sense of pride and satisfaction that he had never known before. He had faced countless challenges and setbacks along the way, but he had never given up on his dream.
